Quite possibly one of the best backdrops to a music festival, Jodrell Bank in Cheshire makes a wonderful setting and all the more nice in the summer sun! Simon J. Newbury Photography has photographed every ‘Transmission’ to date and this year the events were kicked off with the Australian Pink Floyd and Hawkwind.

We have photographed both bands previously and I know that both bands put on a wonderful visual show. Hawkwind have a series of fantasy characters and the light show put on by Floyd is amazing. It was also great to see Forecast on the bill. We have photographed them many times locally at The Box and even gave them their first ever gig at Boxjam a few years ago!

During the summer of 2012 we had the enormous pleasure of photographing the wedding of Karen & Mark at this wonderful venue in North Wales.

Choosing a wedding photographer is a very important task. The investment you make in your photographs and album will be something that will last a lifetime. Long after the confetti has blown away and the chair covers are packed away it’s the memories and your wedding album that last! As well as offering a great price and quality photographs it’s important to get along with your photographer. You will be sharing the most important day of your life with them! Music Promo Photography: Beth England

To celebrate being the official photographers to Crewe Live for the 4th year running we ran a special offer throughout May. The promotion was very popular and we booked a lot of bands and musical artists. The most recent shoot was with Knutsford singer/ songwriter Beth England.

Simon J. Newbury Photography is available for a whole range of music photography. As well as live music photography at gig venues across Cheshire and the North West (and most frequently at The Box in Crewe where we are the official photographers) we offer music documentary photography, festival photography, promo photography and album artwork photography. We can photograph either in a studio environment or out on location.

Beth opted for a location shoot and we decided that a rural shoot would suit her image and style of music. For some reason Lock 57 in Hassall Green came to mind and the location was perfect. We chose our time very well as the field alongside the canal lock had just been mowed with the tractors and agricultural vehicles working away in the distance which made for the most romantic of rural Cheshire backdrops. Not only that, we were fortunate to have a beautiful red barge pass through the lock which made for the perfect colour co-ordination with Beth’s red hair!

Although the number 57 has nothing to do with Beth’s music, she is considering writing a song to go along with the number of the lock! Beth was an absolute pleasure to work with as well as being a fantastic musician! Please check out her Facebook page via the link below!

Haslington Hall in Cheshire is a wonderful venue for weddings. It’s a really beautiful building with the facilities for both indoor and outdoor weddings.

In 2012 Simon J. Newbury Photography was privileged to share Becky & Adam’s wedding day. Thankfully the weather was onside and the wedding was in the gardens. It was a lovely day and the final album was very well received by the Bride & Groom!

We have been working on a brand new website behind the scenes and are now very pleased to announce that our main photography website is now live.

We recently launched a brand new dedicated website for our wedding photography and we also have a dedicated site for our Urban Portraits. All sites are now live and all part of the Simon J. Newbury online family!

The new site has all the galleries that our old site had as well as a new offers page where we will be running regular photography special offers. We have also added some share buttons for Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus so you can share your favourite photos with your friends!

Prom Night Photography

Prom nights are really getting popular. They are a great way to celebrate the end of year and a chance to dress up and feel special. Our Prom night photography is a way to remember the occasion.

We are happy to attend your prom night and set up our mobile studio. We have a large white screen as well as professional studio lighting to get a wonderful photograph of the guests in small groups or with their partner. We are also set up to make prints on the night (within minutes) which is mounted and presented in a protective film bag. A percentage of sales will be given to the organiser. You can rest assured that we are fully covered by Public Liability insurance.

After the event we can post the images from the night into a special password protected gallery so family members can log in and purchase duplicate images or enlargements. We are also able to offer stunning laminated canvas prints, stretch wrapped and ready to hang and beautiful elegant acrylic panels which make wonderful wall art.

We can also take documentary photos of the event should you require this service!

We have experience of photographing many such events previously at venues such as Crannage Hall, Wychwood Park and Crewe Hall. We can also cover guest speak-speaker events where guests can be photographed with the guest speaker and have their image signed on the night as well as black tie balls or corporate events! The month of May means Crewe Live. We have been the official photographers to Crewe Live for four years now and we are very much looking forward to photographing this years music event.

We have been offering event photography to WTD Promotions for a while now. We have been pleased to photograph many leading professional darts players including Terry ‘The Bull’ Jenkins, Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock, Andy ‘The Pieman’ Smith and Kevin ‘The Artist’ Painter.

The latest exhibition event saw Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton and Jamie ‘Jabba’ Caven head to Crewe for a great evening of darts. As with all the other players we made a portrait of each player as well as offered our event photography. We are able to photograph fans with the famous players which are then printed immediately and signed so the customer can take the print away with them there and then!

Our events ‘photobooth’ is available for parties, guest speakers or proms. If you are organising an event get in touch to see what we offer!

The Eyres Promo/ Live Photography

Local band The Eyres have recently undergone a lineup change as well as a change in name. We have provided photography for the band in it’s Sink Or Swim guise. They have also headlined the charity event we organise every year at The Box in Crewe, called Boxjam. Since that performance there has been the changeover of members and the new branding of the band as ‘The Eyres’.

New members means new promo photos so ahead of an article in the local Chronicle and another headline slot at The Box we produced a set of images for the newly named band. We got a nice range of group shots as well as some individual portraits of the band members.

The Eyres have just released a new EP. Their logo was designed by Tina who as well as being a photographer at Simon J. Newbury Photography also does all the graphic design for our bespoke wedding books and does various logo and artwork designs.
